View Full Version : occasional static in wall speaker....cause/repair?

December 9th 07, 05:04 PM
hi, i have these ambiance wall speakers from cambridge that are about
10 years ago. sounds sound fine for a few minutes but then there is
static. it seems to be isolated to one speaker. the connections all
seem fine. same problem is seen with different sources.

i was wondering if it was worth repairing these by replacing the
existing speakers or whether the problem might be other circuitry
within the speaker?

thanks

**The fault lies with the amplifier which drives the speaker. The speaker is
a passive device and cannot make noise by itself.
