Just throwing out this topic before taking the drum brain back to the
store.

I've been having fun with the DD502 e-drums (OSP in the US, Legacy or
Millenium in the UK, Medeli in Hong Kong, it has other names too).
All the trigger pads and cables are working, but the drum module
("brain") is acting very weird
indeed. Tom 3 works sometimes, but the rest of the time it's either
dead, or playing notes by itself, without any form of trigger or
vibration taking place.

I opened up the module. All the soldering looks good, nothing looks
wrong. After opening it up and putting it back together it worked for
a few seconds, then went back to the same thing.
I'm curious if anybody knows what could be causing it.

Switching it off and back on works SOMETIMES, but not always. Anyway
after less than a
minute it starts acting weird again. It seems like some form of
erratic midi jam, but there's no reset button, no threshold settings,
the brain is very basic. The tom 3 problem affects both internal kits/
sounds and midi send.
I could spray some alcohol inside the jack socket, but that doesn't
seem to do the trick either.

LOL. wtf is going on?

This might not be a major breakthrough, but hitting tom 3 at full
blast DOES
bring back the sound temporarily. After that it starts playing by
itself again,
The module's playing drum fills by itself right now as I'm writing
this, haha.

What happens if you give the module a slap, rather than the pads?

Else, simply rename your songs, randomly adding the words 'jazz' 'fusion'
and 'experimental'.

Whaaaa??? What can I say, except.... it WORKED :)
I gave the module a slap like people used to slap their old TVs and
since then it's been behaving itself. Send us an invoice dude.. haha
only
joking. But thanks a mill, seriously.
