I have this wonderful vintage tube preamp up for auction on eBay.
26hrs left.

Note that although it's "reliable" and has "worked flawlessly", it's sold
as-is.

When I sell stuff on eBay, I guarantee it won't be DOA. And if it breaks
down within, say, 24 hours, I _might_ take it back or contribute to the
repair costs.

You can't claim reliability and flawless operation AS SELLING POINTS, then
offer something as-is. I used this argument some years ago to get a free
paper tray for my HP LaserJet when I dropped the tray and it broke.

Can't blame the guy for not wanting to guarantee a 7C after you "dropped it
and it broke." ;-)
