ABX Comparator on the SP forum:

Sorry that the text isn't English.

But what does JA think? How are we gonna' know?

Right, he's still recovering from that bad DBT back in the
70s.

Maybe hook it up with some of those Harmonic Infidelity
cables.

I think that JA's too smart for that, but if they passed the
assignment off to Fremer... ;-)

So high-end comparators are cool but high-end hi-fi is a rip-off.

Where did I say that all high end audio is a rip-off,
Gordon?

I didn't.

There's obviously a legitimate place for audio gear where
fewer expenses are spared in the honest and competent quest
for better sound.

The rationale behind ABX was all about high end audio in a
positive way. We thought that high end audio was about
improved sound quality, and that listening was the ultimate
test of improved sound quality. So, we did the best audible
comparisons we knew how to do some of high end equipment of
the day to low end equipment of the day, and also among
alternative high end equipment. That's been done on and off
to this day.

Hi there!

The ABX device you have posted above is a one-off built by the spanish hi-fi friends group "Matrix Hi-Fi". It was build by one of the members using high quality components and allows all sort of blind tests.
As you can see in the web page, Matrix has created a ABX blind testing protocole and has performed a wide range of blind tests already, all perfectly documented.
At the moment there are records of blind tests comparing CD players (several types), integrated amplifiers and pre-power combinations, both solid state and tubes etc.
One of the members of the group (Alf) has linked to this thread in our forum and we all would like to send greetings from Spain. If you want further details about the group, just post here or send an email and I will try translate for the other members trying to share more information about blind testing.

Regards

Hmm, that would be:

My Spanish isn't all that good, but I don't see anything
lacking.

Makes me wish I was more bi-lingual.

Letsee:

NO SE ENCONTRARON DIFERENCIAS

Means

no differences?

and:

SE HAN ENCONTRADO DIFERENCIAS SONORAS ENTRE AMBOS
AMPLIFICADORES.

Means

differences were heard?
