Default Portable CD player for car

My formerly reliable Panasonic portable CD playerr SL-S360 has died (it
won't recognize any disc), and the model has been discontinued. One of
the main places I used it is in my car, with a Panasonic power and
cassette player adapter. I went to Circuit City and Best Buy in search
of a replacement recently. Sorry, I don't remember the exact models,
but the Panasonic (SX-430 or SX-320, maybe) I tried did not power up at
all without batteries in place. The Sony (probably D-EJ106CK) had this
awful loud, high-pitched beep every time I pushed a button; I could not
tolerate it. Neither had a line-out jack distinct from the headphone jack.

So, can anyone recommend a portable CD player to be adapted to a car
casette player? My required specs a
- It can be powered via a cigarette-lighter adaptor without wearing
down batteries.
- It makes no annoying beeping sounds when buttons are pressed.
- It endures the shocks of city and highway driving
- It is reasonably priced (preferably no more than $60).

Thanks for your help.
