It is true that sighted comparisons can induce biases, although those of us
who try to be ruthlessly unbiased can minimize them. Unfortunately, while
ABX might appear to be an acceptable replacement for sighted testing, it has
been conclusively shown that it tends to reduce perceptual acuity.

Perhaps, in the future, double blind testing for audio equipment will be
refined to produce the same acuity as sighted testing. The problems appear
to be with fatal flaws in the specific procedures used, not the general
concept of blind testing.

Until that day, sighted testing will continue to rule in the audiophile
community, regardless of what the clueless, brain and ear damaged contingent
of borgs want to say.

Sighted testing Rules!

They are NOT used for consumer purchasing choices
Not in audio, nor for purchasing any other consumer item.

So what? How does that make them invalid for doing so?
Just because something isn't done, doesn't mean it shouldn't be done, or
can't be done.

They are not used because they do not work. DBT=NFG.

The latest version of the ABX chapel's incantation. " Our beloved Abx
has come on hard times. It is getting to be common knowledge that it
has not been validated by basic research and that it appears to
obliterate rather than uncover the differences between audio components
performing music. What do we do now? Let's smuggle it back in in
camouflage- let's pretend it is just DBT- what could be more
respectable?."
Or are they really giving up the indefensible? Reality knocking at the
door at last?

No matter how may times you say it, it will never be true. ABX is one of
the most revealing ways of finding subtle differences.

It is a DBT protocol, one that is widely used and is never going away.

Or are they really giving up the indefensible? Reality knocking at the
door at last?

That knocking is just the sound of your hollow head.

Lie.
A tale told by an idiot, all sound and fury, signifying nothing.
It certainly reveals that you are the Village Idiot, Mikey McKelviphibian.
Audiophiles do not use it, have no interest in it, and it is doubtful that
we ever will.

than you.
