Default subs under seat in pickup.

Hi,
I'm looking to install 4x 7inch subs under my seats in my pickup truck.

I'm just wondering, would it be possible to install them

____
__l
l \
l \

\
Sorry for the pic but ____ is the seat, and
\ is the speaker .
__l

l

Hopefully it makes sense in what im saying. But basically can I install the
sub at an angle and have the sub box extended under the seat? would that
work? Or would it affect the performance of the sub?

THanks

Jonathan

ASCII art doesn't work unless you use a mono-spaced font (e.g.
Courier), so I can't tell what your drawing is all about. However,
based solely upon the text of your post, then yeah, you should be okay
to have the box extend under your seat...but how much clearance do you
have? What are the *inside* dimensions of this portion of the
enclosure going to be?

Hi Dan,
Yeah, I know, but was a rough (bad) attempt.

Here's a pic.. The greens the seat... brown the box and so on (not really an artist.. SORRY).

The box states it needs 0.77 feet3 in volume. Size of the sub is 7inch. I could get the volume, just wondering if the angle in question would interfere with the sounds quality?

Thanks again!

Can someone come back to me on this?

I really need to know that if installing 4 subs in the same enclosure do I
just multiply the recommended enclosure volume by 4??

One more quick question on this one. The sub enclosure volume is stated =
to be 0.77cubic feet.. If I have 4 subs going into the same enclosure, =
do I just multiply 0.77 by 4? Or will this in turn make the enclosure =
too big?

I have a feeling this sub works best at 0.77 as this is the best volume =
of air for it to displace, so I assume the bigger enclosure will alter =
the performance of the woofers?

In simple terms HELP! Is there a special formula I have to take into =
consideration when building 4 subs into the same enclosure? or is it, as

=
I said a simple x 4??

A 4 unit enclosure just multiplies everything, including driver

dispalcement volume.
It makes for some interesting combinations of hookup. I have 4- 6.5 inch

woofers
in my Datsun.
I don't know if you guessed at this required volume or what . I the

manufacturer soes not
give suggested volumes, and whether ported or closed, then you need to

figure
it out one the computer. You also can cut down a little on the total

volume by
packing the enclose rather well with some filling, like pillow stuffing.
