Default comparing mixes etc.

Hi all,

I have 2 questions (for now).

I like to get my mixing skills up a notch. The articles I read on the
internet are very informative. But one thing I don't understand. The
tell you to play cd's from artists which sound you like and compare
them with your mix. But those cd's are already mastered. How can I
compare a allready mastered cd with my mix?

I've you let an A&R listen to your mix do you do a little mastering
for there "radio" ears?

Regards

Jasper
