Default Alpine CD-7863, randomly powers off/on by itself

I have an Alpine CDA 7863 deck, its about 4 yrs old (june 2000), and i
had it installed in my honda civic (1995).

While playing a song, the whole deck will power off, and if you touch
the screen or let it sit there, it will try and restore power to itself
where it left off.

Can anyone think of why it's doing this? is this an Alpine known
defect? Is it worth fixing or do i need somekind of special secondary
ground?
