OK, IF YOU CANNOT READ THIS MESSAGE (the text), WHAT NEWSREADER ARE YOU USING? THANKS.
Obviously if you can read this, there is no problem, but apparently some
people cannot. Again, if anyone knows why some people can read the text of my messages and others cannot I would REALLY like to know. I use MS Outlook Express as my newsreader. I recently (about two weeks ago) had a COMPLETE system crash and had to re-install Windows XP. This appears to be when the problems started. I guess it's also relevant to know that I had a MONSTER feud going with another user (Captain Howdy) who seems to know a thing or two about computers, probably much more than I do (but NOT about car audio; sorry, I just had to put in that little jab). He did some pretty outrageous things like putting my car up for sale on a car-sales site (can you believe that?) and I can DEFINITELY imagine that this MAY have something to do with him (of course, it may not). So I'm wondering if it is possible for someone to sabotage my posts in this way. Any info would be helpful. Thank you, MOSFET |

Usually this is done by the poster, but not always. Not all servers honor cancellation requests so if "someone" is canceling your posts who sees them afterwards would be using servers that either ignored the cancel request or haven't gotten it yet. Your suspicions are reasonable, though I don't know the technical details on how it is done. |

About the only thing Howdy MIGHT be able to do is send out cancel messages, which would cause the messages to be deleted from compliant newsservers, but if that happened, I wouldn't be seeing them either. I think a more pertinent question would be, what ISP or newsserver are the affected persons using? THAT is more likely where the problem lies. |
