Default An mp3 player that can play mp3s off dvds

I agree. I would add that a device such as you describe
would also benefit from having its own electronic memory.
An internal memory of a sufficient size could function
both as a cache (so as to help reduce the ill effects of
read errors (a/k/a 'skipping') and it could support the
direct loading of MP3 files from disk (CD or DVD). This
would offer a great convenience over than that of having
to connect it to another source via a cable.

If you would then add a decent FM tuner, basic recording
features and the option of using conventional (easily
replaceable) batteries (in addition to any internal cells
that might be included), I would buy one.

Please let me know if if such a device exists!

Just wondering if there is such a thing as an mp3 player
(fully portable and runs off batteries) that players mp3s
from dvds as well as cds. In this way you could have a
portable unit that could hold 4+ gb of mp3s and at about
1/3 the price of other mass storage mp3 players e.g. iPod.
