Here's a slightly better meter with all the same features for
$15. It has a 1000V range and data hold.

WHAT IS THE MAKE AND MODEL? As long as you fail to include

Hint: we don't believe you when you say it is better than a fluke.
And BTW, its specs suck. 1% to 6% accuracy? Give me a break. It might as

What you choose to believe appears to be based upon an uninformed
opinion (unless you've personally tested and evaluated this meter, and
compared features, quality, and price with either a Fluke or a Tektronix
multimeter).

In order to formulate an informed opinion, rather than spewing forth an
uninformed opinion as you have, the make of this meter is XILE, and the
Model is XL830L. It is not a Fluke or a Tektronix meter, nor is it's price
that of a Fluke or a Tektronix multimeter.

Here's a slightly better meter with all the same features for
$15. It has a 1000V range and data hold.
http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=390-550

There don't appear to be any accuracy specs whatsoever given for this
"slightly better meter" which you cite. Have you compared the accuracy
of the two meters to substantiate your opinion ?

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=390-550

It's specs say that this "slightly better meter" does not have auto
power-off.
The specs also show (at the bottom) that this "slightly better meter" has a
measurement range up to 600 Volts, both AC and DC. The specs for this
"slightly better meter" give no meter accuracy figures whatsoever.

So specifically what makes the meter you cite a "slightly better meter"
(other than you're saying it's a "slightly better meter")? Have you tried
one of these "slightly better meters"? Does it's low cost (for fewer
features) make it a "slightly better meter" ?

Oh, when you add in the lowest shipping charges for that "slightly better
meter", it's actual delivered cost isn't all that much different from the
meter
(with more features) which you've never seen, never used, never tested,
know nothing about ... the meter which you're "really skeptical" of.

Back to whatever it is you're smoking ... g

Makes me wonder. I keep reading the words "high quality" and

"exceptional
value," but the fact that nowhere do you give a brand or a model,

makes
me
REALLY skeptical...

I was also skeptical, until I used this meter and compared it's

features,
WHAT METER?

it's quality, and it's measurement accuracy with my Fluke Model 23
Series III digital multimeter, and my Tektronix Model DMM247 digital
multimeter.

I'm no longer skeptical. You may wish to try one yourself in order to
form an informed opinion.

WHAT IS THE MAKE AND MODEL? As long as you fail to include
this minimal information, it is just a junk of chinese noname garbage.

Hint: we don't believe you when you say it is better than a fluke.
And BTW, its specs suck. 1% to 6% accuracy? Give me a break. It

might
as
well be a 2 digit meter. Reminds me a sinclair LED meter from the

70's.
The last digit is just noise.

What you choose to believe appears to be based upon an uninformed
opinion (unless you've personally tested and evaluated this meter, and
compared features, quality, and price with either a Fluke or a Tektronix
multimeter).

oh, you poor poor baby.

In order to formulate an informed opinion, rather than spewing forth an

I didn't realize that you were familiar with the brand "XILE", or with their
"XILE Model XL830L" multimeter. But since you asked, I answered your
question promptly, and properly.

Interestingly, the XILE Model XL830L multimeter is also "CE Certified".

"CE" stands for "Conformité Européenne" which is French for "European
Conformity". When the "CE" symbol is affixed to a product (as it is to the
XILE Model XL830L multimeter) it is the manufacturer's declaration that
the product conforms to the essential requirements of all European
directives.
These essential requirements would include Safety, public health, Electro-
magnetic Compatibility, and consumer protection, among other things.

But you're probably familiar enough with the XILE Model XL830L multimeter
to have known that it's CE Certified.

I got some hits for XILE on the chinese crap importation websites.
Nothing for that meter, unsurprisingly.

Selling for $18. I sure wish I could find somebody who could charge me

Thank you for generating so much interest; it looks like I'll now have to at
least
double my reorder for more of these multimeters.

Did you happen to see what they charge to ship one multimeter from Singapore
to the U.S.? Their lowest shipping rate shown for that meter shipped to the
U.S.
is $ 16.05 for "Speedpost" Standard Air Courier, with delivery in 7 to 12
business days.

So let's see, they charge you $ 18.52 for the meter, and $ 16.05 to ship it
from SIngapore to the U.S., with delivery in 7 to 12 business days, with no
mention anywhere of any package tracking from Singapore.

Seems to me your total cost from them is $ 34.57 .... which is $ 3.57 more
than your total cost would have been from me, with Priority Mail shipping,
including Delivery Confirmation and a tracking number, and delivery to any
U.S. address within 2 -3 business days.

Do the math, then let me know how many meters you'd like to order before
I place my next order. With the sudden popularity of this meter, I'll even
offer
the very same percentage "quantity discount" they're offering, plus, I'll
discount
shipping charges on multiple units shipped to you at the same time.

How many would you like to order?

You've found somebody ... if you're able to read and do basic math (see
my previous post regarding the shipping charges they charge you to ship
that meter to you from Singapore) ... then tell us who's offering the lowest
delivered price.

Same meter on eBay for $13.38 shipping included....

Shipping does not have to be that high, I bought a cable tester off eBay
that was shipped to me from Hong Kong and the whole thing cost me $6

The picture of the meter he shows on eBay does not look the same as the
Model XL830L meters which I sold, but that does appear to be a very good
price with the shipping from Hong Hong included.

from SIngapore to the U.S., with delivery in 7 to 12 business days, with

no
mention anywhere of any package tracking from Singapore.

Same meter on eBay for $13.38 shipping included....
http://tinyurl.com/6qrnqk

Shipping does not have to be that high, I bought a cable tester off eBay
that was shipped to me from Hong Kong and the whole thing cost me $6

The picture of the meter he shows on eBay does not look the same as the
Model XL830L meters which I sold, but that does appear to be a very good
price with the shipping from Hong Hong included.

It looks identical to the picture on the pchub site.

In order to formulate an informed opinion, rather than spewing forth an
uninformed opinion as you have, the make of this meter is XILE, and the
Model is XL830L. It is not a Fluke or a Tektronix meter, nor is it's
price
that of a Fluke or a Tektronix multimeter.

" No results found for XILE XL830L"

I got some hits for XILE on the chinese crap importation websites.
Nothing for that meter, unsurprisingly.

He told me I needed a better search engine. There are no results on any
search I used other than his posts.

Not to back up the OP, but a google search returned 331 pages of results...

Google guesses at 299 hits, then returns 2 pages. It was 67 hits, actually,
2/3rds of them chinese. (your url includes a 50 hits/page specification)
(page 2 was hits 51-67)

I probably got no hits because the ****ing idiot had misspelled the
manufacturer's name.

XILE != XIOLE

I had searched for "XILE XL830L" and unsurprisingly, got nothing but
the OP's advertisements.

BTW: when posting a google link, you can leave off all the crap except
for the ?q=searchstring part. For example, all you need is:
http://www.google.com/search?q=xl830l
