Default audio shorting plugs

I read in the FAQ to use a shorting plug to test whether amp is causing
noise.

Can someone tell me where to get one or how to make one? I understand it's
just an RCA plug with a resistor between the signal and the shield? If so
what is the correct resistance?

Thanks.
