Teenagers going deaf 30yrs earlier than theri parents

The UK Online News "Times Online" (www.timesonline.co.uk) has reported a study by an organization called Deafness Research UK that suggests young people who constantly listen to personal stereos through headphones are permanently damaging their hearing much sooner than their parents did. I hope it comes _much_ sooner to the idiots with 2000 watt subwoofers in their cars. Maybe if dad is always saying "huh?" that strange cultural abomination will go the way of dad's hearing. Here in Mexican Santa Cruz, CA it's about every third car now. Took the place of the jumping shocks, itty bitty wheels, and the other extreme, the 100 lb spinner wheels that were literally killers on the road. Odd tastes, those folk.
