JL 8w3v2-4 Power Handling
I'm trying to figure out how much I can throw at a JL 8w3v2. The JL website
says 125w RMS, but that seems awfully low. Is that per voice coil? If I get a dual 4 and wire it down to 2 ohms, I'm going to run into problems finding an amp that weak.. The amp I'm looking at now (JBL BP300.1) is listed as 300x1 at 2 ohms. If that is 125w RMS per channel, then I should be fine, given it should be able to handle 250w RMS when wired up... But, if that's only 125w RMS total, I don't know if I should be putting that much power to it. Anyone have any small amps they would recommend? trey |

JL notoriously underrates their subs. Many folks usually triple JL's
suggested power ratings for subs. -- Mark remove "remove" and "spam" to reply "Trey Bradshaw" wrote in message ... I'm trying to figure out how much I can throw at a JL 8w3v2. It depends on the enclosure, and how much air is being moved across the
Voice coil. -- 1991 Tornado Red Corrado, CCA Member # 6645 Stereo is a continuous W.I.P. There are two parts to wisdom: 1) Having a lot to say, and 2) Not saying it.
