Ah, the "geographic center." That's an uncommon way to describe the
infrastructure of an urban metropolis, but it'll do when you're plying
the debating trade. It will also do when you're utterly ashamed to
live in a certain area but you can't afford to move away.

It seems that Google Earth gives the distance from

Surprise, surprise. He is confused again

Wrong again.

I just measured the distance from the official center of Detroit per

I get 13.3. That's from Arny's house to "Detroit, MI," which Google
automatically directs to the geographical center of the city. Arny's
claim for "dozens of km" would mean at least 24 km, which is 14.9
miles.

So Arny lied again.

I didn't actually "do my homework". That was GOIA's equivalent of
saying "search the archive". I wanted to see GOIA define

So Arny lied again.

Arny stated earlier the distance to be "dozens of kilometers"
It would not be unfair to interpret that as 36kms. If it were
24kms, he would have said "a couple of dozen kilometers"

But the true figure, ten is "a few kilometers"!

Totally correct it seems

quote from Wiki
Bordering on Detroit with frontage on southern Lake Saint Clair, it is the
westernmost of the noted Grosse Pointe suburbs, with the oldest overall
housing stock of the five cities. Grosse Pointe Park is six miles (10 km)
east of downtown Detroit,

Let's see. GOIA's "liar hierarchy" it looks like this to me:

are more transparent, but less frequent, than Marc's. So it appears
that Marc is between Iain and Jenn on the "transparency of lying"

There isn't enough data to plot anybody else on the chart. While GOIA
frequently bleats about George's or Clyde's or my "lies", we don't
know if GOIA has rated them concerning "transparency".

To calibrate the scale one must consider GOIA, who (according to him)
never lies but when he does it's not very transparent and done "just

Good analysis. I'd just add one note: Mr. **** has previously averred that
his towering fear and hatred of Lord High Editor Atkinson automatically
excuses from moral opprobrium any aspersion or calumny Turdy throws at him,
including outright lying. This principle comes direct from the Krooborg's
"Debating Trade Manual for Krazy People & Other's, LOt"S!" rulebook.

Rec.audio.pro has taken a sudden turn for the worse. Iain Churches has

snipped the rest of Bwian McCarty's ridiculous diatribe

Please don't be fooled by the 'buzzardnews BS artiste'. He seems to have
turned his attention to Iain Churches now that his anti-Bob Morein effirts
have
been stiffled, so give him what all buzzards deserve; the 'bird'.

Do your homework.

You do know how to log into Google Earth and Wikipedia,
right?

The center of Grosse Pointe Woods will get you close
enough to my house for
umm, government work. ;-)

I come up with 10. What's your number, GOIA?

I get 13.3. That's from Arny's house to "Detroit, MI,"
which Google automatically directs to the geographical
center of the city. Arny's claim for "dozens of km"
would mean at least 24 km, which is 14.9 miles.

I would interpret "dozens of kms" as at least 36 kms.

Where did I say it was dozens of kms, Iain? You made that up!

BTW Iain, you need to at least learn how to tell more credible lies. A
person from the US would generally use miles as a measure of distance, not
kilometers.

Iain, post a link to a post by me saying that, or admit that you are a liar.

Arny stated earlier the distance to be "dozens of
kilometers"

That would be a lie you made up, Iain.

You should at least learn how to tell credible lies Iain. People in the US
state distance in miles as a rule. Archaic, yes but that it how it is done.

If you're so embarrassed to live near Detroit that you

Ignorance of the background of the controversy noted.

It's all about Iain's lying, which is often more
frequent and obvious than yours, Marc.

Neither Marc nor I have lied.

LOL! You were both caught in several lies just yesterday.

Never said such a thing. I know better.

I have said that I lived not far outside of Detroit in
response to Iain's continual confused thinking that I
lived in Detroit.
Which is exactly true. Get a map and determine the
geographic center of Detroit. Do the math.

It seems that Google Earth gives the distance from
the centre of Detroit to Arny's front door as 6 miles
(10 kms)

Wrong again.

Totally correct it seems

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grosse_...Park,_Michigan

quote from Wiki
Bordering on Detroit with frontage on southern Lake Saint
Clair, it is the westernmost of the noted Grosse Pointe
suburbs, with the oldest overall housing stock of the
five cities. Grosse Pointe Park is six miles (10 km) east
of downtown Detroit,

I don't live in Grosse Pointe Park. That's a number of miles away, and
closer to downtown Detroit.

Furthermore, Downtown Detroit is actually right along the Eastern edge of
Detroit, along the river. The other side of the river is Windsor, Ontario,
Canada. So, no way is downtown Detroit in the center of the city.

I just measured the distance from the official center of
Detroit per Wikipedia to my house and came up with a
significantly larger number.

By a new piece of string then:-)))

Note that Iain has already corrected this post, but of course without
admitting any error on his part. No apology, either. Thus we see that Iain
lacks basic human integrity. He lies, catches himself in a lie, and then
just continues on telling more likes.
