After listening to a friends woes with configuring up his new 5.1 system, I
added "auto configuration" as a top requirement before purchasing my Onkyo
SR603. Comparing initial hookup sound to after running auto setup, I noticed
a marked improvement.

This started me wondering about your opinions on Auto Configuration: is it
the panacea I think it is, whose receiver does the best job, etc.?
