What a clot !

" Now for the first time many hi-res digital stereo recordings can
actually match or even surpass the fidelity of the best vinyl LPs
played on the best turntable and analog front end. "

LMAO ! How does he reckon the material was recorded in the first place
? Such ppl are *precious* !

" Though they claim “near-CD quality,” the fact is their signals are
about 1/30th the sampling rate of a 44.1K CD. (MP3 files are
compressed at a 12:1 ratio.) "

1.5 kHz sampling ? This guy knows bugger all.

Are the contributors for this rag always so terminally dumb ?

He obviously doesn't know that thousands of LP titles were origionally
recorded digitally.

signals are about 1/30th the sampling rate of a 44.1K CD.

He's confuses sample rate with data rate.

Are the contributors for this rag always so terminally
dumb ?

IME technically competent High End reviewers are few and far between. Look
at Stereophile, for example. Other than Atkinson and a few others, how many
there know an ohm from a volt or a sample rate from a data rate?
