Default Paradigm speaker comparison

I currently have an Onkyo 500 receiver with Cambridge Soundworks
Ensemble I speakers. I'm looking to upgrade to 5.1 sound. So I am
thinking of using the Ensemble speakers as rear channels and upgrading
to better front speakers. I was listening to several models of Paradigm
floor standing speakers yesterday. I listened to the Monitor 7, Monitor
9, and Monitor 11. Then I jumped up in price range and listened to the
Studio 60's. I was just wondering if anyone could comment on these
speakers. I am trying to decide if it is worth spending double to get
into the Studio series. The store I was at also offers the option to
upgrade within 1 year of purchase.

I realize my receiver isn't the best, that would also be upgraded as
time goes on.

Thanks,
Bill

I haved used Paradigms in my secondary system for years. First, the
Esprit Bipolars and, now, the Studio60, v.2. I think the Studios
represent the best value of the lines. You should check to see
whether the ones you are considering are V.2 or the new V.3. If the
earlier version, the discount should be stiff.

Probably a wise idea.

Default Paradigm speaker comparison

I auditioned quite a few speakers in 1999 and chose a pair of Paradigm
Reference Studio 100s for front duty, and their "matching" center channel
speaker the CC450.

I'm happy with the quality.
