Default Stereo 70 Sutherland mod?

Hi,

I bought an st-70 about 5 years ago with the Sutherland mosfet driver
board and power supply mod. I'm finally finding time to look at
refurbishing the rest of the amp and possibly building it into a new
case.

Just wondering if anyone has experience with this mod?

After doing a fair bit of reading, some parts of the design seem
strange to me. For example, hanging the entire power supply
capacitance directly off the output of the rectifier tube. The choke
is removed.

I've since read, at the Van Alstine site I think, that you shouldn't
have more than 50-60uF directly at the output .

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeff
