Default New Kia - radio install tips?

Hi, all! I have a new Kia Spectra with a factory AM/FM/CD. I want to replace
it with a much better unit, especially one with MP3. I know what I want, but
it's been too long since I did replacements.

Does anyone know how to get the center console of the dashboard apart on a
2004/2005 Kia Spectra so I can get the radio switched? I can't find any
screws anywhere.

Thanks ;o)

If no one here answers you, you might have better luck with a Kia enthusiast
site.

Thanks - I took a quick look in my newsgroups but didn't find any. But I'm
sure there's some web based forums...ought to go look!

Way cool! Perfect info - exactly what I needed. Their description of the
amount of extra room in there makes it sound like I can drop an alarm system
into there while I have it open. Thanks so much ;o)

Well, I've got the console off, and guess what? It's a non-standard sound
system. Kia changed the wiring harness - it now uses the same connectors as
Hyundai. Plus the mounting is recessed, so the factory radio/CD is long in
the front end, and angled about 10 degrees. I get to test my ingenuity on
this puppy g!
