anyone have any ideas on how to solve a window seal leak i have in my civics
passenger side? the leak is where the window rolls down into the door, and
is destroying my speakers when it rains...

yea.. lol but i was told that the problem im experiencing is very common
with my car, and if thats the case i was trying to find a more permanent
solution

you could remove the speaker and put a piece of plastic behind the speaker.
A plastic grocery bag should work. so if water gets into door, the water
will go around the speaker instead of into it. only put it at the top part
of the speaker

The foam baffles (like the ones from XTC) could be used for the same
thing. It has been suggested here in the past to get these, cut out the
bottom if needed for more enclosure volume, and mount them with the
protective side still in place facing upward. You could also modify
these with something like fiberglass or plastic to make them more
waterproof or sturdy. If your speakers work well in a very small
enclosure you wouldn't even have to cut anything out and you may get
better bass response from them. An issue I could see with just a plastic
grocery bag is vibrations from the speaker. If you've ever had a plastic
bag like this around your subs, you know it can be rather annoying,
kinda of like a buzzing sometimes.

The Baffle would be better. but also fix the seal. That could cause other
problems besides speaker damage

yea id like to fix the seal..

im not sure what caused this in the first place, however the actual part of
the black rubber that is in contact with the glass is horribly loose in some
spots... this is occuring on both windows, in random spots along the
window, i have a sneaking suspicion that fixing this will not be a long term
solution.

my car is friggin awesome, but the little things like this make me want to
junk it
