19' Rack cases for Apple Computers
A friemd of mine had a case for his Atari Falcon. With this setup the
motherboard was removed from the old Atari case and put into a 2 rack space unit with fans, and knock outs for all the ports and switches. Does anyone know if there are such cases for old Apple motheboards? I think i remember readiing about them or seeing them somewhere, but that was back in teh Nubus days. Anyone remember the name of the company that made them? thanks n |

Thanks for the link.
Looks like an expensive proposition though; to spend $400 for a case for an $20 computer. I just had this vision when i saw an 8100/80 motherboard on ebay with no case. From the prices it looks like i'm better off leaving it in the case and getting a rack shelf. Wish i had the reason to buy the G-5 rackmounts, well oneday. I If you are inclined to do some work yourself, you could buy a PC rackmount case, and then create your own mask for the connectors. You can find some project (for tower cases) on: http://www.xlr8yourmac.com I recently found some cases similar to those on sale from Marathon, but at a much lower price. However, never tried to do the surgery. Bye, Paolo -- Paolo Tramannoni Recanati, Italy |
