Default FS:Tube/radio manuals, books.

Hello audio fans...
I post usually on rec.antiques.radio+phono, and troll here a little.

I have a lot of old radio/audio/electronics literature... here is a list of
some of it for sale. Also have a lot of brochures for '48-'64era audio
stuff... will be going thru that stuff some other time....contact me at

Riders "Perpetual Troubleshooters Manuals" I have currently the following:
Vols 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16. They are all very nice condition. $16 ea
for any, plus $4 ship ea. $2 off each extra Riders, and $2 additional ship
for each extra, shipped book rate.


Brochures/catalogs first...

Shipping on these is called out on each.

Lafayette Radio/Electronics catalog #710, no cover, but all there. Should
be 1970 issue. Great reference for Garrard, Dynaco, Lafayette and Fisher
equipt, plus lots of parts like cartridges, needles, sw equipt, and more.

Thordarson TV parts crossref, 1978, covers yokes, Flybacks, etc from

Olson catalog, 1974, 245pgs, GC. remember them? I used to buy lots of

Sencore brochure, 6pgs, possibly 1962,with TC114 tube tester, $4+ 60c
post.

Assortment of TV repair equipt brochures, including Sencore, Hickok, etc,
antennas, accessory, capacitor, and etc catalogs... the whole lot of them
(over 30 total) plus an RCA tube price wall chart for 1967, great for the
shop, $12+$2 ship.

1956, 1965 HC, 595pgs. Lots of formulas for resonant, capacitive,
inductive etc, circuits. Phase relations, etc. Possibly real good for
crossover design? Some pages stuck together but all opened up easily for

me
without tearing. $11

AWA review, Vol 5, 1990. SC, 191pgs.
like new. Articles include "the RCA/GE connection", "the Triode that
Predated DeForest", "Spy radios" and more. $10 SOLD



"Vintage Radio 1887-1929" "Greenwood's Pictorial Album Revised, Edited and
Expanded by Morgan McMahon". 2nd ed, SC, 1973.263 pgs. some writing on
cover...GC otherwise. $12

"A pictorial Album of Wireless and Radio 1905-1928" pub by Floyd Clymer,
possibly 1967. This is the FIRST of what then became Greenwood's, then
McMahon's (above listing). The first commercially printed radio
collector's book!
Some stuff in here not in McMahons. 30+ years out of print! 223pgs. EC,

"Radio Experimenter's Handbook" by Radio News, SC, 1932. 5x8" size, nice
red cover, 132pgs. antenna info, various hints and kinks. VGC, $12

"Prepared Radio Measurements" "with self computing charts" by Ralph

138pgs. 1921!!! VERY COOL! book is bound at top for flip open use.

138 pgs. Last page is a form to "Join the National Amateur Wireless
Association" listing Guglielmo Marconi as President of same! Dues only
$2.50/yr!!! Ad in back shows a Paragon "R. A. Ten" being offered by
Dontinental Radio and Electric Supply on Warren St in NYC!!!! A few charts
have pencil marks. Probably about 50 nomographs for figuring stuff like
Coefficient of Coupling, Capacity of wire horizontal to earth, Harmonics,
Inductive Reactance and such. 6"wide, 9" tall. $45.

"Radio and Television Institute Home Training Manual" 8.5X 11" flipbook
(hinged at top) SC, probably 1930 or so! Approx 500 pgs, with tab
indexes... for "antennas" "coils and condensors", "servicing", etc. Nice
line drawings of reciever chassis, tubes, components like coils, etc. Many
illustrations, no photos. Leatherlike cover. $22.


"Supreme's Most Often Needed" series of "Record Players Automatic

Changers,
Wireless Units and Home Recorders" manual. (Beitmans) 1941. Worn but
totally intact. Great prewar record player reference! Lots of pix,
diagrams. Includes the Philco "Beam of Light" changer! SC, 128 pgs. $12

"Workbench Guide to Electronic Troubleshooting" By Robert C. Genn, Jr.
215pgs, 1977. SC, spiral bound. Cover says "Here are instant solutions

hundreds of your electronic troubleshooting problems".
Well, not so fast, buster. Very scattered, I think ,, but some good

info.
Not for beginners! Covers antennas, aligning radios, but throws in
microwave and electric motors for some odd reason. VGC, $8

RCA Television Service Data for the 630TS and 648PTK chassis... 1947,

SC,

x 8.5" size.
All the factory issued service info on these chassis. The 630 was the

most
copied TV chassis at the
time, sort of the IBM XT of its era. Everyone built one, and RCA

licensed
to nearly anyone.
Still one of the best TV sets of the era, highly collectable and
serviceable. $12


"Principles of Radio" by Henney, 3rd ed, 1938. Orig. published 1929.

gives good overview of radio, such as ohm's law, inductance and
capacity...plus properties of resonance.
Three chapters on the vacuum tube, the tube as an amplifier, and audio

"Application of Radio and Television Principles" by Coyne, 3rd ed,

Good electronics schoolbook. 4 chapters on tubes alone. Good chapter on
transformers, too.

"Practical Radio Communication" by Nilson and Horning, 1943, 927 pgs,

has several fold-out schematics for Western Electric transmitters, has

some
tube theory and reciever info as well. VGC, some cover soiling, $12.

"Fundamentals of Semiconductiors" by Scroggie, 1960, 160pgs, HC. All

the
theory to go with the book above. Both are Gernsback. this one is in
original wrapper too. EC, $10

"Elements of Radio" by Marcus and Horton. 4th printing, 1950. HC.

One
of
the classics. covers all the basics of radio. this one is worn, and the
first third or so of pages have separated from the binding, but its all
there and totally usable! so this gets a GC--, and goes cheap...$8

"ARRL Antenna Book" 1946, 142 pgs, covers half-wave, long wire,

multiband
antennas, etc, etc. SC, VGC,. $10


"Radio Service Training Manual" by Rice, Sams publishing, first ed,

SC,1971. 288pgs.
covers AM, FM tube or transistor, even a little stereo. Has nice

service
charts with "yes-no" choices leading you to possible solutions to your
service problem. VGC-

"Audel's "new" Radioman's Guide" soft cover, 745 pgs, 1939,40 issue.

a
VERY cool looking book with a lot of good info, but not so much

service
oriented. Still, worth it for a general overview of all things

competitor to "Modern Radio Servicing" it covers all section of a

radio
and

"Essentials of Radio" by Slurzberg and Osterheld, 1948, 806pgs. HC.

Intro to radio, circuit analysis, tubes,det & tuning circuits, AF,

power,

circuits. some audio.

"Basic Radio Principles" by Suffern, 1943. 271pgs. HC. 5X8 . Tube

"FM Simplified" by Kiver. 1947, 359pgs, HC. 5 x 8. all about FM,

3 vellum fold out schematics, all perfect. Nice, covers all the types

of
