Would a Newer Alpine Changer be outa the question? Lol, Like a six disc,

do
the newer ones hook up the same as the older ones?

Sorry to hear that. I've had that problem with my wife's JVC. It reads
CD-Rs, but about five or six songs into one, the sound starts to break

up,
almost as if it's losing sync or something.

I can't complain, though. If a player doesn't explicitly advertise that

it
plays CD-R or CD-RW discs, it's kind of a crapshoot whether they will or
not, and you can't really blame the manufacturer if they don't. The

laser
requirements for reading a CD-R/RW are different from what's required to
read a factory-pressed disc, so some players just flat-out don't like
CD-R/RWs. Shame that your old JVC changer handled them fine, but your
Alpine wouldn't.
