Safari stereo & bazooka problem
I just installed an 8 in selfpowered bazooka in my 2000 GMC safari, which is
almost the same as the Chevy Astros. Yesterday, I when I installed it, I used the pos wires from each of the two mids on the back. Stereo started acting up, all the sudden speakers would mute, but the radio and bazooka were powered up. Then they would play fine all of the sudden and would mute at any given time. I found out it was the wires from the mids wired to the bazooka. Now I got the wires from the 6 in cheap "subs" on the rear doors and disabled them, since they rattled anyway. Now the problem is that bass from the bazooka will cut off as soon as the stereo is turned off and on or the ignition switched from on to off but the power to the bazooka is perfectly fine coz I have a manual switch for it, just the sound but if I unplug the wires from the back of the bazooka and then plug it back in, it'll start playing fine. Im not using RCA cables, coz Im sure these factory stereos dont come with them. Any ideas on what this problem might be or if there is a better way to wire this bazooka? Thanks. moyo |
