I *really* need this machine for re-mixing a client's old project.

Any Ideas ??

Send the tape to Steve Puntolillo, have him dub it to a digital format,
mix from the digital media. Forget trying to find a machine locally,
let alone a machine that has been well-maintained locally.

Thanks... I'll check the pricing and give this priority. None of the
folks I thought might have this machine, do... and the original
machine's owner (Paul Kulscar) has has apparently left Dallas.

Cheers,

DM

Agreed. I reached the point hiring Steve when it's xfer time would be
both time and money efficient compared to keeping the A80 running on
time. And then the guy who bought it told me I had free access to it for
xfers once he had it back to spec all around. Can't beat a deal like
that. All you have to have is an old A80...

The problem is that it was kind of a weird proprietary format, so it's
not as easy to find, as, say, a 2" 24-track. The other problem is that
it was sort of a low-end entry-level format, so fewer of the people who
bought the machines had the budget to keep them properly maintained.
