Default Bookshelf speakers

Hello, I'm completely new to this group, but I have a question that is
probably best suited to the members here. I'm interested in buying a
pair of front bookshelf speakers, and I'm wondering if you could give
your opinions on these ones:

Epos ELS-3
NHT SB-3
Ascend Acoustics CBM-170

I listen mostly to jazz, classical and acoustic music. Thanks in
advance for your feedback,

Brian Coleman

At your price point, add to your short list:
New: B&W 601

Used: Paradigm Reference Studio 20

Becuase it's such a very personal thing, I recomend you buy what please you
best.
My preference would be towards NHT.

Unfortunately, I live in a town that's pretty far away from any
speaker/audio show-rooms, so I'm generally not in a position to test
out different speakers in person. So I wonder if you could say what
you prefer about the NHTs? I ask because most of what I've read so far
is making me lean toward getting them. Thanks!

He Sander, are you reading this:
Nautilus tapered tubes
When a driver is loaded by a tube of a similar diameter
to the diaphragm, sound propagates down the tube .......

Serious audio going down the tubes :-)

(a tapered damped tube at the rear of a mid-driver
is of course an eminently good idea
