Default Interesting articles on dynamic compression

I found these quite interesting; first is a Salon.com article (scroll
down to "The Death of Hi-Fi?"), which has some very interesting
letters in reply, second is an AP article.

Once of the Salon letters refers to a very good YouTube
segment illustrating dynamic compression and the problems it creates, at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Gmex_4hreQ .
