Would you like a cell phone and a cup of coffee to go with that bypassed gyro?

What I would like would be an honest answer instead of the usual smart ass
comments. I am having problems with accessing the DVD-AUDIO menus. You guys do know what DVD-Audio is don't you? And I am having difficulties with my Nav unit. Thanking you in advance for your anticipated cooperation. "Captain_Howdy" wrote in message ... Would you like a cell phone and a cup of coffee to go with that bypassed gyro? Incidentally I have the Bluetooth adapter for the cell phone and I have cup
holders so I should still be able to have both hands on the steering wheel. "Captain_Howdy" wrote in message ... Would you like a cell phone and a cup of coffee to go with that bypassed gyro? I could say "yes", but I'd be lying...though I imagine that it has something to do with audio on a digital versatile disc. I still don't understand how removing or disabling a stablizing gyroscope would make it *more* and not less possible to use the device in a jittery automobile. Thanking you in advance for your anticipated cooperation. Why don't you try contacting the device's manufacturer. What ill you are seeking to inflict upon the device surely cannot be warranty-able. -dan |

Lol predictable is a good word for it. Dvd-Audio is high resolution audio,
quite often the music is in multi channel. Titles are now far and few between however DualDisc is getting more popular and has higher resolution in stereo or multichannel. for info on dvd-audio check this page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD_Audio The gyro senses if the vehicle is moving and as such turns off the video when the vehicle is in motion, it has nothing to do with stabilizing the unit "D.Kreft" wrote in message ups.com... I was very excited years ago when I first learned of the possibilities of DVD-Audio (multi-channel, higher frequency response, better S/N, etc.). The idea that by using more than two channels you could be immersed in a TOTALLY REALISTIC soundscape (like a club or symphony hall) was A DREAM COME TRUE. Unfortunately, IMHO, the INCREDIBLE and COMPLETELY UNPREDICTABLE success of the MP3 format (and devices like the iPod that play this format) has overshadowed ALL new advances in audio reproduction. PEOPLE LOVE THEIR iPOD'S AND MP3, AND THAT'S ALL THERE IS TO IT. I believe that is partly (if not mostly) to blame for the lack of success of new formats like DVD-Audio and HDCD. 10 years ago, NO ONE could have predicted how popular the MP3 format would become. Alright them, yes it can be bypassed but not without voiding the warranty if
it has any. No one in their right mind is going to help you bypass the gyro for the same reasons that the manufacture installs them. Thanks Captain Doo Doo, your all heart. And I am certain that you practice
the absolute perfect driving etiquette and safety procedures. Perhaps you should also put a limiter on your mustang so it will never ever be able to go faster than the speed limit, trust me it will be for your own good and the well being of others. You're right, I do practice the absolute perfect driving etiquette and safety
procedures because I am a professional driver. Along with getting a medical (every 2 years) and written test when I renew my class AZ driver's licence very 5 years. silly dick your az liscense is good for 40 years . the only thing i would say is either call the manufacturer to see if there is anything they can do. or just pull it apart your self and see where it is inside. i really have no clue how to do it, but i'm sure with some searching and what not you should be able to find it. some topics like this start alot of debates, just like if you were to go to a car forum and ask how to remove the speed limiter. not such a good idea, but there are ways around it. -- almond |

HI Lull,
I'd guess next year someone will do it... if for no other reason than they can. Probably Sony so they can try to push the format. I'll put in the same pile as all of my MD stuff. I seriously doubt it will catch on, though. As Nick mentioned, most people are in love with compressed formats and having 50 GB available won't change that. smiles, Jamie On 2006-10-19 15:46:05 -0700, "The Lull" said: Kind of makes you wonder how long until they start trying to introduce Blu-Ray decks into the car audio world... ~The Lull |

People being in love with their compressed formats is exactly what will
make Blu-Ray so attractive. If you have a DVD-R/RW filled with Mp3s it holds more songs than a CD-R/RW filled with Mp3s, right? A Blu-Ray disc filled with Mp3s holds a Butt-Load more than DVD! Personally I hope it doesn't catch on since it costs more and whatnot, but more storage along with the capability of utilizing any format might impress quite a few people... ~The Lull Jamie Pruden wrote: HI Lull, I'd guess next year someone will do it... if for no other reason than they can.
