Very small power supply componants (the three white square thingys, and the round cylindrical thingys). 3. Very small package size (size does matter, just not in a linear fashion). If you paid more than $20, it's a rip-off. -- thelizman "I didn't steal the FAQ either" teamROCS Car Audio Forums http://www.teamrocs.com/caraudio/ teamROCS Car Audio News http://www.teamrocs.com/news/ "It's about the music, stupid" This post is Copyright (C) 2004. It looks similar to the insides of a Coustic 'booster' amp I helped a friend
install many moons ago. "Ryan" wrote in message om... Unfortunately I bought this amp before I found this newsgroup. It must be straight from the sample schematic that come with those amp chips. So why does this amp exist? It's clearly 18W RMS per channel, the same as any headunit costing more than $49. It says it's a 50W amp, 25W per channel. It don't think it said the RMS value anywhere. It's an Optimus (Radio Shack) XL-50. I paid $8 for it on Ebay. I will know better next time. When I do get my next amp (which will probably be a Profile Clarus or a US Acoustics) I will open it up and post pictures of it. -Ryan |

I once had a customer bring in a counterfeit Pioneer amp, it was labeled
like a Pioneer, but didn't look like one, nor was the model number correct for anything Pioneer ever made. It had a PCB like that in it, two fuse holders with 30A fuses that weren't even connected to the pcb, and a lead weight attached to the bottom panel to make it feel heavy- can you say rip-off... -- Jammy Harbin J & J Electronics, Inc. 227 S. 4th St. Selmer, TN 38375 731-645-3311 "Ryan" wrote in message om... Mount it in a hard drive bay of your computer so it can drive bookshelf speakers. |
