Default interconnect wiring; analog, optical, digital, cat 5

I normally post to jukebox and pinball forums but need your help. I
need to send low-level audio (pre-amp) output from a jukebox to an amp
another part of my home. I also want to send an audio signal from
from my computer to the same amp (to play MP3 files). I've read of
diffecrent options to send analog signals.

Are there any options to convert an analog signal to digital to send
to the amp. Are there devices that use CAT-5 wiring?

Thanks,

Matt

There are preamps/processors (or home theatre receivers) and soundcards
available that can output digital signals. In some cases, a jukebox can
output digital signals. You just need to look at the specs on the various
devices.

If you wanted to send a digital signal that far, 75 ohm shielded coax would
be the best choice. However, you would need some way for the signal to be
converted to analog at the amp.

Can anyone recommend a stand-alone audio analog to digital device to
convert line level audio to digital output (for a coaxial cable.) I'm
planning to get a Yamaha RX-V2400 home theater receiver. It will
accept digital coaxial inputs (3).

Thanks,

Matt
