VS-1680 and Finale 2000 MIDI sync
Hi group. If there is a better forum to direct my question, please let me know. I am attempting to synchronize Finale 2000 (PC) to the Roland VS-1680 (16-track digital hard disk recording workstation). So far, I set the VS-1680 to send MIDI clock sync signal to Finale and set Finale playback options to "Wait for MIDI Sync". This works in that the 1680 play and stop controls will start and stop the Finale sequencer, but whenever Finale is set up to wait for external sync, it does not appear to transmit MIDI out. I set Finale to play back in "Non-scrolling (prescan music)" mode. Also, in "scrolling" mode, one can see the pointer following the music after starting the external sync on the 1680, but again no sound is played. No MIDI data seems to be transmitted to the MIDI out port whenever Finale is set to wait for external sync. During regular playback (NOT waiting for MIDI sync), Finale will play the score and transmit MIDI to whichever MIDI output is selected (internal sound card, external keyboard via USB MIDI interface, etc). Thanks for any direction in solving this most frustrating problem for a MIDI virgin. |

VS-1680 and Finale 2000 MIDI sync
Answer... for the archive: UNINSTALL Finale 2000 and INSTALL Finale 2006 (in this case). Reset MIDI In and Out configuration (dialog box opened automatically), and rock on. Everything workes as it should. Z wrote in message ... Hi group. If there is a better forum to direct my question, please let me know.
