Fisher 800C - Latest Find
A friend of mine who is a serious collector of vintage equipment going
back many years called me last week to gauge my interest in an intact, fairly clean 800B, with the MPX board, but also the separate AM & FM tuners *and* and AM/FM stereo setting. Needless to say, it followed me home today. I will report later on what transpires. The tubes are all Fisher-branded, a mix of Holland, England & German-made, but with Fisher-branded GE 7591A output tubes. Tube shields are intact, lots-O-dust. Even the knob-cap (in a separate plastic bag). More to follow. Peter Wieck Wyncote, PA |

I paid $50.00 and got an 800B a R101 and two other Fisher receivers. The 800B was by far the best of the bunch. I am sorry I let it go. I was amazed at the sound it produced. As has been said replace the bias selenium and any capacitors that need attention. You will have a fine receiver. This tuner has a really good FM and AM front end to boot. Great find.
