Default EV Cobalt 9 Mic?

Anyone have experience with the EV Co9 Mic?

A vocalist friend used one that was provided for her at a wedding gig.
She really liked it, but the overall sound system was so bad she's not
sure she trusts what she heard.

The cobalt line seems to be in sell-off mode a several retailers,
available for what must certainly be less than ordinary wholesale. Could
represent an opportunity for her to upgrade her vocal mic.

It's okay. It's more directional than an SM-57, less directional than an
AKG D880. If you get one on close-out and don't like it, you can probably
sell it on Ebay in a couple years and get your money back.

The N/D 767a has more top end and a MUCH tighter pattern, and still isn't
much more money. But the top end could be a big problem for people with
a lot of tonsil noise, etc.

This is for a really sweet female vocalist singing standards with great
skill. She hasn't a powerful voice, but a very beautiful voice, and her
chops and control are fabulous. She probably doesn't need more top end
for the genre and her style.

Thanks, Scott.
