Interesting choice for small monitoring speaker
It is the KEF Cresta 10. Tiny thing that sits very nicely on the shelf,
but is very flat and very revealing. I've just taken an impulse response (using a mic I have previously calibrated with a spark impulse - there is an old thread somewhere). Anyway, the location above the desk means that I can expect reliable results down to 1kHz or so, and here is what we have. There are ups and downs, but the whole thing appears to sit quite nicely within +/- 1.5dB right up to 20kHz. And it doesn't have any sort of euphonic dip around 4kHz. I'd be interested in what anyone else can produce for their monitors along with comments on how they sound - perhaps we can find out what makes for a really good one. http://81.174.169.10/odds/cresta10.gif d |
