You mixing two stats here. In this country, there are about 40,000 new
cases a year among adults and adolescents, and about 50 new cases among
children. Total U.S. cases are about one million adults and adolescents
with HIV and about 9500 children. When speaking of either HIV or AIDS,
there are not 3000 new cases a year among children.

Effective quarantine means prevent transmission.

OK, so you going to quarantine a million people until they die (or until
there is a cure). Some questions:
1. Where?
2. Who pays?
3. And, there will continue to me new cases, of course, even if all
U.S. cases are quarantined. Does your mandatory testing plan include
periodic re-testing? For example, people travel to other countries, and
people from other countries visit here. Do you test Americans when they
return from other countries? Do you test foreign visitors? And because
there is an incubation period, if you do the above, there will still be
spread in the this country, so periodic re-testing of everyone in the
country will be needed.

Adolescents aren't children? But you're right...the mother
to child thing is dramatically reduced but not eliminated.

" The CDC reports that through 2004 there have been a cumulative 8,779 cases
of AIDS in children under 13 years that occurred because of HIV infection
during pregnancy, birth or breastfeeding. However, annual numbers have
fallen dramatically in recent years, and in 2004 only 47 cases of AIDS were
reported in children infected by their mothers. "

Only 47.....

They spend as more time in this report discussing AIDs discrimination
than almost 9,000 innocent children deprived of a normal life.

Effective quarantine means prevent transmission.

OK, so you going to quarantine a million people until they die (or until
there is a cure). Some questions:
1. Where?

A million people are restricted from sexual freedom...period.
If they have a partner or find a partner in the AIDS population
fine..otherwise they can have a normal life.
If they violate these terms then they loose their freedoms.
Incarceration is not required. Technology to track people
is available and is relatively low cost.

2. Who pays?

Taxpayers.

3. And, there will continue to me new cases, of course, even if all
U.S. cases are quarantined.

We already test all legal immigrants. If we get illegal immigration
under control we can get levels down to minimum.

Does your mandatory testing plan include
periodic re-testing?

Yes, as long as necessary.

For example, people travel to other countries, and
people from other countries visit here. Do you test Americans when they

Yes....depending on where they visit.

Do you test foreign visitors?

Yes.

And because
there is an incubation period, if you do the above, there will still be

Thats true... Cubans get tested almost every time they visit a doctor.
As you can see from the data...what we're doing today no longer
is reducing the number of new infections per year.
We are not on a path to eliminate this disease.

OK, so you going to quarantine a million people until they die (or until

1. Where?

A million people are restricted from sexual freedom...period.

I see. I thought that you meant physical quarantine as in isolation
from the rest of the population.

If they have a partner or find a partner in the AIDS population
fine..otherwise they can have a normal life.
If they violate these terms then they loose their freedoms.
Incarceration is not required. Technology to track people
is available and is relatively low cost.

You can track people in regards to who they have sex with on a daily
basis? How would the government accomplish that?

2. Who pays?

Taxpayers.

Let's see, at $20 a test (which is far less than you can presently get a
test done for) that would cost about $600 BILLION dollars. If it costs
what it actually presently costs, you can double or triple that. Are
you ready for that?

3. And, there will continue to be new cases, of course, even if all
U.S. cases are quarantined.

We already test all legal immigrants. If we get illegal immigration
under control we can get levels down to minimum.

Does your mandatory testing plan include

Yes, as long as necessary.

At another $600 billion to over $1 TRILLION a pop. What do you think;
once a year? Twice a year?

For example, people travel to other countries, and
people from other countries visit here. Do you test Americans when they
return from other countries?

Yes....depending on where they visit.

Do you test foreign visitors?

Yes.

Goodbye to tourism.

Can it be that we actually agree on something?

The Supreme Court protects the rights and freedoms of religion.
What it prevents, is the the government forcing of
religion down people's throats,

Didn't stop the public call to prayer in Dearborn.
Thats about as down your throat as I can imagine.

ARe you talking about a call to
prayer from a mosque?
That is not a governmental activity.

Neither is public school actually..or at least
it isn't supposed to be.

Damn right it is public!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are equating public schools with a religious place of worship??

It would appear that way...

Its akin to church bells ringing.

Have you heard the call? Them ain't bells.

Duh. No anti-Muslim sentiments here.

Its the same principle, you just don't
like the music. Just imagiine
how the Gitmo prisoners feel about AC/DC.

I used to be a liberal, "at least" the old style
liberal that is fast becoming no more, soon
to be extinct when Lieberman goes down.
I am still a registered Democrat.
I don't vote for many of them.
Bush was the first Rep I ever voted for, for President.
Carter was the last Dem I voter for, for President.
I tended to vote independent, John ANderson,'Ross Perot the first time.
'the second time Perot ran I voted for another candidate with big ears,
I wrote in Mickey Mouse.
Here is an enigma: I voted for the Rep governor, Erlich, and also for the
lib Dem senator Mikulski, I like her, but I always voted against the
lib Dem Senator Sabanes, who is a phoney.
In the Dem Pres primary, I voted for Rev. Al. IF he
won the nomination, I would actually consider him.
He showed up the rest of the Democratics as being quite ignorant.
I also think he is really not as much of a dove as he says, if **** happened
on his watch, he wouldn't take it, and he would retaliate. Its his nature.
It tend to like fighters.

So, I'm not so easy to peg.

Why am I not shocked to see George at the center of another
flame? How many years have you had this little fued going
there George? Even the Hatfields and McCoys took a break
after a decade or so. I guess you enjoy the safety of
taking pot shots over the net where no one can respond with
anything but electrons arranged in a certain way. That's
why I think the internet is home for the biggest whiners on
earth. People like you thrive in the seclusion of living
and posting from under a rock somewhere without any
consequence for their actions. It's CB radio all over
again. Rednecks bashing each other from the safety of their
hideout on every channel - ain't the internet great?

Yes I know I'm here doing the same thing but I don't do it
as a full time hobby. It isn't my life. I've actually been
doing other things for the past 10 years. George has been
right here all along haven't you George? What a joke. But
hey I'm not "out". That's a perfectly good reason to
discount what I have to say according to the half baked
weirdos that populate these groups.

Haven't you guys noticed that the audiophile fad has been
over for about a decade now? You're the only ones left that
think bashing someone else over their choice of overpriced
equipment is cool and enjoyable. Get a life guys. You
really need one. You know I'm right. When was the last
time you saw the sun George? Are their mushrooms growing on
your keyboard? Is there a Mrs. Middius? Do you have time
for any other hobbies besides boring flame wars?

Yeah everyone should be like you right George? Hide in your
basement and crank up the stereo until you can't hear
anything from the real world, post flames in this ng and put
down everyone who isn't just like you. Nothing creepy about
that is there George? Can you imagine a whole country
filled with people just like you? A whole world maybe? At
least communicable diseases would cease to exist unless they
adapted so they could spread over the internet.

I'll stop picking on you now George. I shouldn't have
singled you out. This whole ng is full of weirdos like you.
You're just one I remember from 10 years ago and you're
still here doing the same thing you were back then. Nothing
creepy about that. No sir.

Is your argument that someone should tolerate falling under the
dominion of (a dictatorship, a group of religious zealots, communism,
whatever)?

If so, then you do not understand the word, 'liberal.'

If not, then what's your point?

Are you falling under such a dictatorship? I see no evidence of it.
Indeed, I see only evidence of people, particularly young people,
becoming more 'liberal' every day.

Begs the question. Clyde was called 'hateful.' That was in response to
his reaction to a statement, not an existing condition.

I repeat: should liberals 'tolerate' falling under the dominion of
something? Should liberals also 'tolerate' attacks on the separation of
Church and State, for example?

What, exactly, are you babbling about?
Tell me, in this godly dominion, who goes
to heaven, and who does not? Where do the Muslims,
Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, agnostics and atheists end up?
Now, start telling me more about tolerance.

Not at all.

Someone declaring 'jihad' can say so or write so whenever they wish.

And we all get to comment on it too.

Now ain't *that* a bitch?

Moron.
