Featuring the "million-dollar" Dual Hyperdome Tweeter, the Pro 22 Series was engineered to better handle high and middle frequencies while eliminating resonance. Later that year, the Energy 22 was selected to be the Reference model for the NRC and the CBC Orion Bluebook report below for your convenience: Official Orion Blue Book Report. API's premier line is Mirage, with Energy a close second. Sound Dynamics is an entry level line designed to compete with the likes of Paradigm. Click here to visit the Energy Speakers website ENERGY Energy Speaker Systems has a long history of research and development in acoustics, speaker engineering and manufacturing for over 25 years The philosophy of design behind every Energy product has its foundation in our pioneering study with the Canadian National Research Council (NRC) almost 20 years ago. This study consisted of a number of groundbreaking listening and measuring procedures that pointed to conclusions focusing on the three major parameters of loudspeaker performance: 1. Flat On-Axis Frequency Response with Wide Bandwidth - The ability of a speaker to reproduce the entire audio range in a uniform manner. 2. Wide and Constant Dispersion - This refers to sound - at all frequencies - which radiates from the loudspeaker, ideally in an even pattern, in all directions throughout the listening environment. 3. Low Distortion & Resonance - While no speaker system is totally devoid of distortion or resonance characteristics - speaker systems with as much as 25-30% Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) at bass frequencies can still be considered "high end" - Energy has achieved a significantly lower "distortion level"; an improvement that is clearly audible. This basic Energy philosophy hasn't changed in a quarter of a century, yet our extensive research methodology and the available technology and materials have steadily improved, enabling Energy to continue to manufacture speaker systems that achieve outstanding performance through consistent improvements to all of these three critical parameters.
