Hello,

I recently sold a pair of old ominidirectional speakers and was struck
by the memonry that back in the early 1970's omindiretional speakers
were all the rage, and in the 80's they disappeared never to be seen
again. Of course the evolution lead to what we have now, 5 or 6
little satellite speakers and a subwoofer...omni-directional
tweeters/drivers are now non-existant...why did they fizzle so
completely ??

Because they are more room-dependant than monopoles.
BTW, they are still available from MBL, B&O, etc.
