Default Marchand Xm-9 electronic Xover hum

Anyone has improved the PS-1 power supply provided with the the XM-9 ?
Since it is a very low consumption device, does someone have tried to power
the unit with DC batteries (+/- 15V)?

The reason why I'm asking this is because there is some hum perceivable and
I'd like to get rid of it.

Thanks
