Default Copyright Reg CDR Damaged by Radiation

Sheesh...

I sent in a reg app during the second week of Dec 2007. They warned it
could take up to eight months to get a reg notice back.

Got the notice today...

The enclosed CDR was damaged by radiation, and they want another
submission, and they want it "promptly". Yeah, they want it promptly,
after taking nineteen months to get back to me...

This is the US government at "work".

Are cassettes more robust under radiation than are CDR's?

In fact I did that earlier this year, after twice the originally
professed eight months had passed. So much time had elapsed that I
assumed they'd lost it. Now I'm going to see if 1) they will honor the
date of the original postmark, and 2) apply the second filing fee to my
next submission. All future submissions from me will be online.
