Trotsky's questionable SPEAKERS -- JUPITER AUDIO
dave weil said: The other thing of course is the problem that Joe has with language sometimes. It makes one try to give him the benefit of the doubt, as it were. I actually thought he might have been actually saying what he was trying to say. I thought the same thing -- that the "non-American" parts were a thing of the past, but he got his verb tenses tangled up. Instead, he tripped over Krooger's religion. |

I'm just discussing your lack of integrity in your chosen profession. No. You're tossing about a couple of often repeated Trotsky plattitudes. Your integrity has been shown to be non-existant so you inevitably attempt to turn the table and find fault with my employer. Thats as lame as me trying to find fault with a speaker manufacturer cuz some kid will listen to depressing suicide condoning music and kill himself as a consequence. Meanwhile I'm gutting it out trying to do something I *know* is worthwhile. What you know is a figment of your imagination. But you're right, I would set a far better example for kids than you. Another irrational comment. I never said any such thing. The more you write, the more insane you prove yourself to be. ScottW |

(made in England, iirc - definitely not Malaysia or China) Umm those British caps would be non-U.S. components, no? Heh. Got me on that one. It was a simple mistake. The really tragic part of this thread was where Weil didn't see the goof even when I pointed it out to him what, twice? I hardly call it tragic. Of course Weil, it's part of your habit of whitewashing your own errors. Of course, I did what you refuse to do and that's admit that I was wrong when someone who has attacked me constantly in the past has shown me to be wrong. You know, a few commas, maybe break it up into sentences, and it would be decent English. Unfortunately, your inproperly (sic) formed ego won't let you do the same. I'm not the guy who is whitewashing his proven error, here. *That's* tragic and in literature it's called a "fatal flaw". I'm not the guy who is whitewashing his proven error, here. The other thing of course is the problem that Joe has with language sometimes. I generally have few if any problems decoding his meanings. It makes one try to give him the benefit of the doubt, as it were. It's just a matter of language decoding skills. I actually thought he might have been actually saying what he was trying to say. You're wrong again Weil. He clearly said that he said what he meant to say, but what he meant to say is not exactly the way things were. Like a man, he recognized his error and corrected himself. You might want to try it sometime, Weil. |

So, I wonder why calculators continued to drop in price during the 60s and 70s. Do try to stick with the discussion at hand which was about PCs. |

I actually thought he might have been actually saying what he was trying to say. No, it's that I make most of my posts during the week at 12-2AM while watching Anime' - lol. I tend to not do as much spell-checking or grammar/syntax polishing as during the daytime posts. What I mean to say was that my speakers were 100% U.S. to begin with, though I did replace the caps with new ones.(U.K. since I couldn't find any U.S. made ones at the time). Thanks to your post, I have a source for U.S. made caps, so a replacement/test session is in the works. I personally see little difference between the U.K. and U.S. in terms of my China/Malaysia argument, though. High standards of living and free market societies with good education and services versus living in squalor making products in sweatshops. I have no problem giving my money to any country in Europe, Canada, Japan(if made *in* Japan), the U.S., or other places like Israel(make some fine electronics, btw) and Australia. I've also dropped my recommendation of Tannoy's lower-end speakers since I learned that they are now using Chinese/etc drivers. Of course, that leaves very little choices to recommed for budget speakers. Any candidates under $500 and under $1000 that the group can recommend? |

The difference between you and him is the fact that he's smart enough to know when he's dead. So in your mind you envision a dead guy with a can opener trying to pick a fight with a tank?
