Default viper esp500 alarm problem

hello,

i've had an alarm in my car for something close to 2 years,
and it was fine. Recently, however, my alarm stopped
properly working.

When I set the ararm, lights flash, doors lock, but there is
no chirp. Also, my LED indicator is always on, whereas
during normal operation it'd just be blinking.

Also, I can come to the car, open the door, and alarm won't
go on. Neither do shock sensors work.

At the same time, panic button works fine, and triggers the
siren.

The dealer I installed an alarm at wants $55 just to take a
look to see what's wrong. I am wondering if someone has any
suggestions as to what may be wrong. Maybe something I can
try myself? I checked my manual, and it does not seem to
give any kind of troubleshooting tips.

thanks,

denis

Yes, it was. Thanks. That'll teach me to read manuals :-)

Sounds like it might be in valet mode...
