Default Which Equalizer to choose for a SONY TA-F461R?

I own a SONY TA-F461R Amplifier and I want to buy an additional graphic
equalizer for it. Can someone recommend me matching devices? Display
would be a good feature.

Thank you all,
Christian.

You trying to make the system sound better, or are you just looking for
some cheap entertainment with blinking lights?

No, I am looking for a better sound. I want to push up the lows a
little bit and maybe the highs. But a design-matching device would be
good.

When I'd like to have cheap blinking entertainment I could use Winamp's
AVS and a beamer ;-)

That will give you different sound, not necessarily 'better' sound.
What equipment/setup inadequacies do you have?

I own the Amplifier above, a Sony EON-TA tuner and matching speakers. A
CD and a DVD.

Equalizers are not "matching devices". Choose one on the merits of the unit.

Sony didn't make all that many equalizers, if you are looking for
something to match.

Here's one that might, up for sale on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-7-Band-Grap...QQcmdZViewItem

I would maintain a search for "SEQ" under Consumer Electronics, bound to
spot one now and then.

Alternative is to use a non-matching piece from a company more known for
processors like dbx, ADC, Audio Control, etc. Most of the Japanese
receiver manufacturers offered EQ's also, so there are plenty of Yamaha,
Technics, Kenwood, Pioneer pieces etc.

I got 212 current ebay hits for "equalizer" under consumer
electronics/home audio/equalizer category.

This should not be difficult to find, unless you are looking for a very
specific model that matched your integrated amp, assuming they offered
one that year.

Or one that sounds good and adds little distortion or noise.

If you looked at the rest of the components he listed, it's not likely
he'd be seeking an expensive "audiophile" solution... that's all fairly
generic Sony stuff.

Not everyone tweaks over their audio components...

True but I'd put a generic EQ in that category.
