I don't know about speakers. Clearing out a unit from a deceased estate, and trying to find what $ we sell them for. |

These were sort of Tannoy's first attempt at affordable home speakers and they didn't really know how to sell into that market in the US. So there aren't a lot here, but there isn't much demand for them either, unlike say the dual concentric Tannoy stuff. They might be worth a good bit more in the UK or in Australia where there is more of of an audiophile following for Tannoy. In the US, people go berserk over the big Westminsters and the studio guys like the dual concentrics but there really isn't much demand for the rest of the stuff. --scott -- "C'est un Nagra. Neither good nor bad - just normal. I've had a peer round the usual places to see if any have been sold lately, but nothing. You should have a look to see if the surrounds are good - they tend to rot away. If they are OK, put them on ebay and see what happens. If the surrounds are gone, it is anyone;'s guess whether they are worth repairing. d --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus |

Cheers Gary Bass Reflex design, I see!! Is that good or bad? I don't know about speakers. It's totally irrelevant. Clearing out a unit from a deceased estate, and trying to find what $ we sell them for. Go do a historical search on ebay.au and see what they turn up for. In the US, as I said, there isn't a big demand and a couple hundred would be all I would want to ask. But where you are it might be different. Also, check the surrounds on them and see if they are good or if they are disintegrating. They are easy to replace when they fail, but they do fail, and if they are failing you should mention it when you sell them, and if they are intact you should mention that too. --scott -- "C'est un Nagra. There is a pair for sale in the UK with dead tweeters for £150. Basically, they are a 30 year old reasonable quality hifi speaker for domestic use, so are worth whatever you can get for them, and the most important factor in the price is whether anyone wants them this week. It's likely that the cosmetic appearance will be more important than the sound quality, though on the bright side, spares are still apparently available. The only effect of them being a bass reflex speaker is that they will need to be positioned carefully in the room for the best results. -- Tciao for Now! John. |

Seeing what I saw, I wouldn't expect to get much for them, nice speakers though!! $100/pair? Jack |

Probably the person is so old now, his hearing lacks high frequencies and he believes the tweeters are dead!! :-) Jack Basically, they are a 30 year old reasonable quality hifi speaker for domestic use, so are worth whatever you can get for them, and the most important factor in the price is whether anyone wants them this week.
