Default Acoustic Piano Recording

I want to record my acoustic piano. Can a Pinnacle systems
Audio/Video capture board used as an interface between a mic
preamp/mixer and my computer?
Thanks

Yes. However you will probably get better results with a 'proper'
audio-orientated soundcard.

Is the Pinnacle low-quality? Mic inputs on general-purpose cards are
uniformly lousy, but Line In on even cheap consumer cards -
SoundBlasters and the like - are usually OK.

Depends which Pinnacle card.

Then, it depends on your desire for sound quality. The Pinnacle cards that
could work typically convert audio to MPEG. Not the best choice for high
audio quality.

Depends what you call OK. Generics generally pretty noisy and high
distortion in comparison with more audio-centric models. Also sometimes
wierd unavoidable resampling internally.
