Not a tube in them, of course.

.... and not the courteous, FA: prefix either Peter
maybe he will add a tube or two ... CD inputs too!
how did they know back then to add CD inputs?

.... only in excellent condition though, I'll wait
for a 'mint' one ...

Default Sonofawhore 66fourdoor again....

It's old sonofawhore 66fourdoor, of course.

THESE ARE (2) SOLID STATE RECEIVERS, REMOVED FROM CONSOLE STEREOS, FROM
THE 1960-70'S ERA- BOTH HAVE BEEN TESTED AND THEY BOTH WORK PERFECTLY

HAVE INPUT JACKS AND HARNESSES FOR PHONO INPUT, TAPE INPUT, AND SPEAKER
OUTPUTS- ALSO ANTENNA HOOKUPS AND ANTENNA, AND ALL ASSOCIATED WIRING

THE RCA UNIT HAS A SEPARATE POWER SUPPLY TRANSFORMER

BOTH HAVE DISCRETE BOLT-IN REPLACEABLE TRANSISTORS- THESE UNITS SOUND
BETTER THAN LATER IC POWERED SOLID STATE- GREAT FOR STEREO PROJECT, IF
YOU MAKE CABINETS FOR THEM, OR INSTALL THEM IN THE WALL- WILL ALSO WORK
IN A VAN OR CAMPER, BOAT, ETC.

CLEAN AND FUNCTIONAL- BOTH CONSOLES WERE WORKING PERFECTLY WHEN THESE
WERE REMOVED.

SEE MY FEEDBACK, OTHER AUCTIONS

More dog **** console pulls.

I guess "bolt in replaceable transistors" might work OK if you
soldered them in like they should have been.

True on the first statement (but please apologize to the dogs you have
so casually maligned... even their poop is typically of better quality
than these junkers), not so true on the second... you are showing your
(lack of) age, there Bret.

The old germanium transistors were pretty touchy, failed often and
except under nearly-ideal conditions sounded pretty wretched. So,
making them plug-in was a necessary requirement for servicing... which
these beasts typically needed early and often. Even if these were
silicon, their vintage is of the time when QC on transistors was a
spotty thing at best, again failures early and often. Also keep in mind
that these units were emphatically _not_ high-fidelity then or now.

Of course that some high(er) end makers of the time including Scott,
Fisher, AR, McIntosh and others used transistor sockets, especially for
driver and output transistors has not much to do with it either. KLH
stayed germanium until rather late in the game, they did not use
sockets (at least those units I have come across), and their units are
quite difficult to repair for that reason amongst others. KLH did take
more-than-ordinary precautions against thermal runaway, internal
feedback and other typical germanium-specific failures, but still...
