XM with FM modulation
well with XM do you really need FM??? unplug the antenna after the modulator
"Clumpy Wheel" wrote in message news I want to get an XM radio for my truck and I see that all of the non-specialist stores (Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.) are all pushing these "works with your existing radio" units, which I understand work via FM modulation. But how exactly does that work? I used to have an adapter for my Discman years ago where I had to tune the radio to an unused frequency to listen to it, but it didn't work very well because no matter what frequency I turned to, I'd get some interference. Do these XM systems work the same way? I live in Los Angeles now and I'm not sure it would be possible to find an FM frequency with nothing on it. |

XM with FM modulation
go with the kit that those local stores have bestbuy, circuitcity. the
fm modulator usually work with 88.7 and 89 something. the fm modulator will overpower those stations and transmit the xm radio and you still have your other fm station to listen to. crutchfield have xm radio with headunit combo, but by now you probably already bought something -- soundwave ------------------------------------------------------------------------ CarAudioForum.com - Usenet Gateway w/over one million posts online!
