Lately I've had some problems with this subwoofer. It died at first,
then came back to life, but performance and output level varies
somehow... Sometimes it's just fine. Other times it's very low and
sounds bad.

And when pushing the speaker cone on the subwoofer it continues to
oscillate on it's own for a short while, even without signal input. Is
this because of the ace-bass technology or is something wrong?

It certainly is not the way it is supposed to be, it sounds as if
something has broke or possibly drifted due to aging, and that the
feedback loops of ACE goes mad.

I suggest it should have a visit at the place you bought it. If it is
old and there is no warranty, you might try to do some adjustments
yourself, but you should then obtain instructions from Audio Pro on
how to do that. At my workplace we have done that for a couple of old
A4-14's, and the procedure is nothing you figure out of your own.
