Hi, im looking into buying a new 5.1 Surround Sound kit, mainly for
Music audio usgae.

Wondering if anyone could reccommend any good 5.1 kits. (Under £400
would be great)

Or any 5.1 DVD Player pakcages.

Why buy old and nearly obsolete equipment? 6.1 is the norm today
and 7.1 is coming into its own in higher end systems. You can
get decent basic 6.1 receivers for under $250 US. Avoid the all
in one box systems since the speakers are normally total pieces
of **** and not worthy of being used in a dog kennel.

Look on ebay. The gear-heads are moving to 6.1 and 7.1, there will
be cheap 5.1 equipment up for grabs.

Beware. Most Surround systems are sold into the fashion or
"Lifestyle" market. The quality, particularly of the speakers, is
abysmal. A good system would cost a lot of money. You'd get a
better musical experience from a decent stereo system.
